Breathing in Confinement – Latif Hassani, Azerbaijani political prisoner, went back to Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, after a short Leave.

According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, Latif Hassani, who was sent on leave from Rajai Shahr prison, since 22^nd June, went back to this prison on 27^th June.

This political prisoner was on hunger strike from 18^th May 2014 for 52 days demanding his transfer to the prison in his home town, Karaj, and therefore he suffers from numerous health problems.

He has a history of open heart surgery, before his arrest.

Amnesty International in an urgent action statement on 4^th July 2014 expressed their concern about the situation of this political prisoner, called for his immediate and unconditional release.

It is worth mentioning; he has been sentenced to 9 years imprisonment by the Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court in Tabriz on charges of forming an illegal group and propaganda against the regime.
