Breathing in Confinement – Latif Hassani, political prisoner was sent on leave for 3 days.

According to the report obtained by “Breathing in Confinement,” this Azerbaijani political prisoner was sent on leave for 3 days after more than a year of imprisonment in Raji Shahr prison in Karaj on September 7.

The political prisoner had gone on hunger strike since May 18, 2014, for 52 days to demand being transferred to a prison in his home town, Karaj, and suffers from several health problems.

He had had an open heart surgery before the arrest.

Amnesty International in an urgent action on July 4, 2014, expressed their concern about the situation of this political prisoner and called for his immediate and unconditional release.

It is worth mentioning, he was sentenced to 9 years imprisonment by Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court in Tabriz, on charge of forming an illegal group and propaganda against the regime.
