Shahram Radmehr transferred to the prison of Meshkin Shahr

Breathing in Confinement – Shahram Radmehr, imprisoned Azeri activist has been transferred to Meshkin Shahr Prison.

According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, the imprisoned member of “Yeni GAMOH” had asked the authorities to transfer him to the prison on Meshkin Shahr and has been finally taken to the prison of his native city.

According to his family, he is suffering from knee inflammation and chronic headaches however the authorities do not give him medical leave.

Shahram Radmehr had been arrested several times before and is imprisoned since January 2013. He was arrested along with Latif Hassani, Mahmoud Fazli, Behboud Gholizadeh and Ayat Mehr Ali Beyglou, 4 other members of “Yeni GAMOH” and transferred to the detention center of intelligence ministry in Tabriz.

The 5 activists were sentenced to 9 years in prison by branch number 3 of the revolutionary court of Tabriz on charge of establishing illegal group and spreading propaganda against the regime. The appeal court confirmed the sentences, too.

Ayat Mehr Ali Beyglou was also transferred to the prison of his native city, Jolfa, on May 31 after 37 days of hunger strike.

Latif Hassani had also gone on hunger strike with the same demand and was transferred to Rajai Shahr Prison in his native city, Karaj, on July 12 after 52 days of hunger strike.
