Ministry Of Intelligence Warns The Activists About Participating In Shahrokh Zamani’s Funeral

Breathing in Confinement – The Ministry of Intelligence, has warned dozens of political and workers activists, in various cities of Iran regarding their presence at the funeral of Shahrokh Zamani.

According to the reporters of “Breathing in Confinement”, from this afternoon and during the continuing contacts by the security forces with political activists in Tabriz, Tehran and several cities in Kurdistan province, they were warned about any of kind of participating in the funeral of Shahrokh Zamani.

An informed source in this regard, in an interview with “Breathing in Confinement” said: “The Ministry of Intelligence officers threatened political and labor activists, by going to their homes and calling them that if they would participate in Shahrokh Zamani’s funeral, they would be definitely arrested.”

He clarified: “Activists in Kurdistan province and Tehran were threatened that if they would attempt to move toward Tabriz, they would be arrested.”

He continued: “Some of them have been summoned to the offices of the Ministry of Intelligence in Tabriz and Tehran and they have to go there tomorrow morning.”

In some cases, reports indicate that the officials have gone to the homes of activists to arrest them.

It is to say that; the funeral ceremony for Shahrokh Zamani will be held at the cemetery of Wadi Rahmat in Tabriz, tomorrow at 10 am.

Daughter of this labor activist, who died yesterday noon in Rajai Shahr Prison, in an interview with the reporter of “Breathing in Confinement” said: “The body was autopsy in Tehran forensic before being transferred to Tabriz and the result will be given a month later.”

Shahrokh Zamani was arrested by the security forces in Tabriz, on 8th June 2011 and was released temporarily from prison on two hundred million tomans bail, on 19th October.

This labor activist was then sentenced to 11 years imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court, and in December 2011, he was detained along with another labor activist, Mohammad Jarrahi, to endure his imprisonment sentence.

He was transferred from Tabriz Central Prison, without a court order to Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj, on 17th October, 2013.
