Saman Naseem’s Family still under Psychological Torture

Breathing in Confinement – Family of Saman Naseem is still uninformed about his condition, regarding his execution.

According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, formerly it had been announced that Saman Naseem, political prisoner, will be executed on 19th February, but prison authorities and Judiciary officials still refuse to provide detailed information on his status to his family.

Regarding the latest information about Saman Naseem’s status, during a conversation with the reporter of “Breathing in Confinement”, a member of his family stated: “We went to the Judge, yesterday, and Mr Abbaszadeh said: ‘If he was supposed to be executed, I should have done this but I have not given such an order.’”

This member of family added: “Then we went to the prison of Orumieh and asked them if Saman has been executed, to at least get his stuff, but prison authorities said, ‘If he is executed, we will send his stuff through the post, otherwise, he will contact you.’”

He continued: “We had no calls from the officials, and still, we have no information about Saman’s situation and his location.”

Saman Naseem, political prisoner in Orumieh prison was arrested at the age of 17, and was sentenced to death with charge of cooperation with Kurdish opposition parties.

As stated earlier, his sentence was supposed to be implemented on 30 February. This execution sentence has faced a widespread condemnation from international organizations and countries like Norway, Germany and America.

Saman Naseem is one of the 23 political prisoners of ward 12 of Central Prison of Orumieh who went on hunger strike on 20th November 2014 for 23 days to protest against the prison’s condition.
