Breathing in Confinement – The death sentence of at least one prisoner previously arrested on a charge of “murder” and sentenced to death was carried out in Kangan Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was executed in the early hours of Wednesday, 3 December 2025, in Kangan Prison. The identity of the executed prisoner is under review.

The prisoner, a resident of Kangan, had been arrested on 20 March last year on a charge of “murder” after an altercation that resulted in the death of a man named Jalal Ahmadzadeh. He was sentenced to death, and the sentence was carried out in the early hours of Wednesday, 3 December 2025, in Kangan Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran

According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, six people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
