Breathing in Confinement, Thursday, 1 October 2026: The death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had previously been arrested on a murder charge and sentenced to death, was carried out in Sari Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was hanged in Sari Prison in the early hours of Wednesday, 30 September. The prisoner’s identity has been verified by Breathing in Confinement as Shahram Fazlollah-Tabar.

According to the report, Shahram Fazlollah-Tabar had previously been arrested on a murder charge and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary. His sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 30 September in Sari Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
