Breathing in Confinement – The death sentence of at least one prisoner who had been arrested on a charge of “murder” and sentenced to death was carried out in Gorgan Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Wednesday, 24 September 2025, a prisoner was hanged in Gorgan Prison. The identity of this prisoner, Meysam Khodadadi, has been verified by Breathing in Confinement.

Meysam Khodadadi had previously been arrested on a charge of “murder” following an altercation reportedly linked to “honour” issues, and was sentenced to death. His sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 24 September 2025, in Gorgan Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
