Breathing in Confinement- Amid heightened security measures following an Israeli airstrike, Iran’s parliament has redefined the crime of espionage in a new nine-article bill.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, citing Tasnim News Agency, the judiciary’s spokesperson announced in a televised interview that, as part of efforts to “strengthen the regime’s authority,” a number of “misguided” individuals have voluntarily turned themselves in following public appeals from the judiciary.

The spokesperson welcomed the new nine-article bill passed by the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Islamic Republic Parliament), which redefines several national security offences, including espionage, calling the proposal “comprehensive.”

He added:

“Today, foreign infiltrators are operating using hidden and sophisticated methods. The ratification of this bill will enhance the capabilities of the judiciary and law enforcement in confronting such threats with more deterrent and exemplary actions.”

West Azerbaijan – Arrests linked to Mossad and Monarchist groups
The provincial prosecutor announced the arrest of five individuals suspected of working with Israel’s Mossad and a so-called monarchist group in Urmia. Two other teams were arrested in Urmia and Mahabad for allegedly “spreading public anxiety on social media” and “disrupting public psychological security.” One of those arrested is reportedly a foreign national.

Alborz – Weapons and narcotics cache uncovered in Garmdareh
Security forces discovered a residential property in Garmdareh on 21 June containing firearms, knives, ammunition, banned items, narcotics, mobile phones, and stolen documents. The operation was conducted by the IRGC’s Imam Hossein intelligence unit in Karaj.

Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari – Drone team arrested in Shahr-e Kord
The provincial IRGC intelligence organisation arrested a group active in drone manufacturing and use, citing “suspicious activities.” The investigation is ongoing.

North Khorasan – Mossad spy arrested in Ashkhaneh
A man was arrested while filming sensitive sites, including a grain silo, allegedly spying for Mossad. His case is under judicial review.

Khuzestan – Five arrested for alleged media collaboration with Israel
Five individuals in Masjed Soleyman were arrested for allegedly collaborating with Israeli-linked media networks online. They were labelled “media and cyber mercenaries.”

Qazvin – Weapons seizure and arrest of foreign nationals
According to the Basij intelligence network, 468 weapons (including knives, stun guns, pepper spray), 30 war-grade bullets, and over 80 foreign nationals were detained. The weapons were reportedly en route to Tehran.

Fars – 53 arrested and drones confiscated
Authorities announced the arrest of 53 people in connection with Israeli-linked security threats. Sixteen drones of various types were also seized.

Kurdistan – Arms cache seized and separatist elements arrested
Security forces uncovered an arms shipment allegedly belonging to separatist groups aligned with Israel. One group member was arrested; others reportedly fled toward Iraqi Kurdistan. Seized items included 5 AK-47s, 21 grenades, 20 detonators, 22 magazines, and about 2,000 rounds of ammunition.

Kerman – 14 arrested in Jiroft for pro-Israel online activity
Authorities arrested 14 people in Jiroft for allegedly reposting and endorsing Israeli actions on social media, accused of “disturbing public opinion” and “media support for the Zionist enemy.”

Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad – Mossad network dismantled in Yasuj
A coordinated operation by IRGC Fath and the provincial intelligence department led to the dismantling of an Israeli-linked network. The group allegedly converted cryptocurrency into high-value gift cards to fund sabotage.

A European national accused of spying on sensitive areas was also arrested.

Golestan – 8 arrested in Aliabad-e Katul
Eight individuals were arrested for spreading anti-government content, publishing falsehoods, and causing public anxiety on social media.

Lorestan – Bomb discovered and suspect arrested in Khorramabad
Authorities arrested an individual who had threatened a bombing in Khorramabad. A ready-to-detonate bomb and a hunting rifle were seized. The suspect is accused of ties to Israel.

Mazandaran – Mossad agent arrested in hiding
IRGC intelligence forces in Mazandaran captured a Mossad agent at a private hideout. Military equipment, surveillance devices, and communication tools were confiscated. The suspect had allegedly received specialised training abroad.

Yazd – Mossad agent arrested; 81 security cases opened
A Mossad spy accused of transferring sensitive data, including air defence coordinates, was arrested. Over the past week, 81 security cases have been opened for individuals accused of spreading rumours and misinformation online, and 200 people were formally warned.
