Abbas Lisani Released after 6 Days of Hunger Strike

Breathing in Confinement – Abbas Lisani, political prisoner in Adel Abad prison of Shiraz was released after six days of hunger strike.
According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, this Azerbaijani civil activist who had been on hunger strike since May 19, was released from Adel Abad prison in Shiraz, on the bail of 150 million IRR, on May 25.
His one-year-imprisonment sentence had already ended on May 18, but the authorities were refusing to release him through forming a new case. His hunger strike was in protest to this issue.
Abbas Lisani, civil activist who had not attended his 3 court hearings due to non-compliance with Article 168 of the constitution regarding public trials, was sentenced to one year in prison by the Revolutionary Court in Ardebil, presided by Judge Asadpour, on April 25, 2015.
