Reza Shahabi and Latif Hasani passed out due to long hunger strike

Breathing in Confinement – Reza Shahabi and Latif Hasani, political prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison, passed out due to hunger strike and were taken to the prison’s clinic.

According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, Latif Hasani, the imprisoned member of “Yani Gamouh” who went on hunger strike since 18th April in protest at violation of the principal of separating prisoners on the basis of kind of crimes and political prisoners’ right of being transferred to their home city passed out this afternoon fainted and was taken to Rajai Shahr prison’s clinic.

On the other hand, Reza Shahabi, th board member of the Syndicate of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company went on hunger strike from June the first following being exiled from ward 350 of Evin Prison to Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, passed out at 8pm today and was transferred to prison’s clinic by his cellmates.

Regarding his condition, an informed source told Breathing in Confinement’s reporter: “Reza Shahabi was still unconscious when his cellmate left the clinic.”

Latif Hasani went on hunger strike when he was in Tabriz Central prison and then later on first of July he was transferred to ward 10 in Rajaj Shahr prison. He has continued his hunger strike with demand of being transferred to political prisoners ward and today was the 51st day of his hunger strike.

He has been sentenced to 9 years imprisonment by Tabriz Revolutionary Court with accusation of forming an illegal group and propaganda against Regime.

Also, Reza Shahabi has been sentenced to endure 4 years Imprisonment, 5 years ban on Tread Union activities and 7 million Rail’s fine.
