According to “Breathing in Confinement,” the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was executed at dawn on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Isfahan prison. The identity of this prisoner has been confirmed by “Breathing in Confinement” as Abbas Karimi Borouzadi.
According to the information received by “Breathing in Confinement,” Abbas Karimi Borouzadi, son of Ali, had previously been arrested on charges of murder and sentenced to execution. He was the father of two young children (named Ali and Albalu). Abbas Karimi had been transferred to solitary confinement last month in preparation for the execution of his sentence, but was given a reprieve until October 17 to seek the consent of the victim’s family. However, the victim’s family did not grant pardon, and according to sentence number 0100418 and letter number 62.00941, dated April 28, 2021, he was executed at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, in the courtyard of Dastgerd Central Prison in Isfahan.
