Breathing in Confinement: The death sentences of two prisoners who had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of murder have been carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison.
According to reporters for Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, two prisoners were hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison in the early hours of Saturday, 13 June 2026. Their identities have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Seyed Akbar Bani Hashem and Amir Abbas Dakavand.
According to the report, Seyed Akbar Bani Hashem had previously been arrested and sentenced to death for the murder of a man named Akbar Barghi. Amir Abbas Dakavand had also been arrested in a separate case on charges of murder and was subsequently sentenced to death.
The death sentences were carried out in the early hours of Saturday, 13 June 2026, at Ghezel Hesar Prison.
