Breathing in Confinement, December 6, 2020: Being pardoned by his family, a child prisoner in Sanandaj, who had been imprisoned since September 2017, on a charge of murdering his father, was saved from the death penalty.

According to Hamshahri Online, quoting Bahador Asadi, Deputy Chief Justice of Kurdistan Province, with the efforts of the Dispute Resolution Council in Sanandaj as well as Juvenile Reformatory Center, a young boy who since 2017, had been under the execution sentence on charge of murdering his father, returned to life with the consent of his family.

Although the report has not mentioned the prisoner’s age, the intervention of the Juvenile Reformatory Center which is for the cases related to under eighteen prisoners indicates that the accused had been a child.
