Breathing in Confinement – At dawn on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, the death sentence of at least one prisoner convicted of “murder” was carried out in Sari Prison (Tirkola).

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was executed in Sari Prison (Tirkola) on the morning of Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed as Majid Vahidi.

According to Breathing in Confinement sources, Majid Vahidi, a 26-year-old from Sari, was arrested three and a half years ago for allegedly murdering his friend following a verbal altercation. He was sentenced to death and had been working as a motorcycle and bicycle repairman before his arrest.

The execution was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, March 12, in Sari Prison (Tirkola).

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
