A prisoner saved from execution in exchange for giving an Olympic medal to the victim’s brother

Breathing in Confinement, November 30, 2020: A young man, under execution sentence, on a charge of murder during a quarrel, was saved from the death penalty with the consent of the victim’s family.
According to Rokna News Agency, Ali Akbar Heydari, the Olympic Wrestling Bronze medalist in 1964, visited the victim’s brother to obtain his consent. In the meeting, the victim’s brother told Mr. Heydari that he would agree to consent on the condition that Mr. Heydari gives him his Olympic medal. And as Mr. Heidari accepted the precondition, the accused was saved from death.
