Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Wednesday, January 1, the execution of at least one prisoner convicted on drug related charges was carried out in Gorgan Central Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner convicted of drug-related crimes was executed in Gorgan Prison early on Wednesday, January 1.
The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed as Behrouz Mehrani by Breathing in Confinement.

According to a reporter from Breathing in Confinement, Behrouz Mehrani, a resident of Gorgan, was arrested in 2020 on charges of drug-related crimes and was sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, January 1, in Amirabad Prison, Gorgan.
