Breathing in Confinement – The death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder,” was carried out in Sarakhs Prison.
According to information received by reporters from Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in the early hours of Thursday, 19 February 2026, a prisoner was executed by hanging in Sarakhs Prison. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Hassan Amani (Narouei).
Hassan Amani, aged 28, fram Sarakhs, had been arrested five years ago on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Thursday, 19 February 2026, in Sarakhs Prison.
