Breathing in Confinement – The death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had been arrested and sentenced to death on charges related to “drug offences,” was carried out in Tabriz Prison.
According to information received by reporters from Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in the early hours of Monday morning, 16 February 2026, a prisoner was executed by hanging in Tabriz Prison. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Sadegh Manafi.
Sadegh Manafi, son of Mozafar, aged 35, had previously been arrested on charges related to “drug offences” and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Monday, 16 February 2026, in Tabriz Prison.
