Breathing in Confinement – At dawn on Sunday, 2 June 2025, the death sentence of at least one prisoner previously convicted on charges related to drug offences was carried out in Bam Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, the prisoner executed at dawn on Sunday was identified as Fakhr al-Din Shirouzehi.
Based on this report, Fakhr al-Din, a resident of Zahedan, had previously been arrested on charges of drug-related offences involving 320 kilograms of methamphetamine, 300 kilograms of opium, and possession of firearms, and was sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Sunday, 2 June 2025, in Bam Prison.
