Breathing in Confinement – The death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had previously been arrested and sentenced to execution, was carried out at Bandar Abbas Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in the early hours of Wednesday, 7 January 2026, a prisoner was hanged at Bandar Abbas Prison. The identity of the executed prisoner has been confirmed as Sohrab Niroomand Mohammadi, and has been verified by Breathing in Confinement. The charge against him remains under investigation.
Sohrab Niroomand Mohammadi had previously been arrested and sentenced to death. His execution was carried out in the early morning hours of Wednesday, 7 January 2026, at Bandar Abbas Prison.
