According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was hanged at Karaj Central Penitentiary. The identity of the prisoner is currently under investigation.
According to the report, the prisoner, a resident of Karaj, had been arrested six years ago on charges of “murder” following a physical altercation and was subsequently sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at Karaj Central Penitentiary.
