Execution of a prisoner in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz

Breathing in Confinement – On Monday, November 4, 2019, a prisoner who was previously convicted of murder was hanged at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.

“Breathing in Confinement”- the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran- has identified this prisoner as “Hossein Askari” from Marvdasht county who was being kept in Cell number 13 of Ward 10 at  Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.

Hossein Askari accused of murder had reportedly being held in Adel Abad Prison in Shiraz since 2016. Failing to obtain the consent of the victim’s relatives, he was hanged at Adel Abad Prison on Monday, November 4.

The news about his execution has not so far been released by the official media.

It is noteworthy that according to the Statistics Center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 280 prisoners have been executed in the country, over the last one year (October 2018- October 2019). Out of them, only 75 have been announced by the official sources.
