Breathing in Confinement – On Sunday, January 12, a prisoner was executed in Amol Prison on the charge of murder.
According to Breathing in Confinement the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran quoting Rokna, on Sunday morning, January 12, a prisoner was executed in Amol Prison. The executed inmate has been identified as M.P, a young man from the City of Behshahr. He was arrested last year on charges of killing a resident of Razakeh village in Amol.
It is noteworthy that Iran has the highest number of executions in the world per capita, and according to the statistics center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in 2019, the Islamic Republic’s authorities have carried out at least 274 death sentence.
