Breathing in Confinement – The execution of at least one prisoner was carried out in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Thursday, 21 August, a prisoner was executed in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan. The identity of this prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Mehdi Kazemi. His charge has not yet been specified and remains under review.

Mehdi Kazemi, son of Ghanbarali and a native of Darafshan village in Pirbakran, Falavarjan County, had been arrested on unspecified charges and sentenced to death. He had spent more than 12 years in prison. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Thursday, 21 August 2025, in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.
