According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, a prisoner was hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison. The identity of the prisoner, Ali Garavand, has been verified by Breathing in Confinement.
Ali Garavand, 28, from Kuhdasht, had been arrested nine years ago on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. His sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison.
