Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Sunday, January 5, the execution of at least one prisoner convicted of drug-related offenses was carried out in Hamedan Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner accused of drug-related crimes was executed in Hamedan Prison on the morning of Sunday, January 5. The identity of the prisoner, Abolfazl Azadi, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.

Based on information from Breathing in Confinement, Abolfazl Azadi, son of Azad, was a resident of Khorramabad. He had previously been arrested on charges of drug-related offenses and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out on the morning of Sunday, January 5, in Hamedan Prison.
