Breathing in Confinement: The execution sentence of at least one prisoner who had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder” was carried out in Isfahan Prison.
According to reporters from Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was hanged in Isfahan Prison in the early hours of Monday, 15 June 2026. The prisoner has been identified by *Breathing in Confinement* as Mohammadreza Gashoul.
According to the report, Mohammadreza Gashoul, also known as Mohammadreza Lorchi, was the father of two children and a resident of the Veldan neighbourhood in Isfahan. He had been arrested 12 years ago on charges of “murder” and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary. He was transferred to solitary confinement on Saturday, 13 June 2026, in preparation for the execution. The sentence was carried out in the early hours of Monday, 15 June 2026, at Isfahan Prison.
