Breathing in Confinement – At dawn on Saturday, March 1, 2025, the execution of at least one prisoner convicted of “murder” was carried out in Jiroft Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, one prisoner was executed in Jiroft Prison early Saturday morning, March 1. The identity of the prisoner, Mohammad (Hossein) Tavakoli, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.
Reports received by Breathing in Confinement indicate that Mohammad (Hossein) Tavakoli, a resident of Anbarabad, was arrested in 2021 on charges of murder and sentenced to death. The execution was carried out at dawn on Saturday, March 1, in Jiroft Central Prison.
