Breathing in Confinement: The death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had previously been arrested on charges of murder and sentenced to death by the judiciary, has been carried out in Kermanshah Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was hanged in Kermanshah Prison in the early hours of Tuesday, 9 June. The prisoner has been identified by Breathing in Confinement as Abbas Zarei.
According to the report, Abbas Zarei, who was married and a native of Sarin village in the Firouzabad district of Kermanshah County, had previously been arrested on murder charges and sentenced to death. His sentence was carried out in the early hours of Tuesday, 9 June 2026, at Dizel Abad Prison in Kermanshah.
