Breathing in Confinement — The death sentence of at least one prisoner who had previously been arrested on the charge of rape and sentenced to death was carried out in Maragheh Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, a prisoner identified as Hossein Farmani was hanged in Maragheh Prison.
Hossein Farmani, from Khosheh Mehr, Maragheh, was arrested seven years ago on the charge of rape and sentenced to death. Two days earlier he had been transferred from Tabriz Prison to Maragheh Prison for the execution. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Tuesday, 18 November 2025.
