Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Monday, January 20, 2025, the death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder,” was carried out in Mashhad Central Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was executed in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad early Monday morning on charges of “murder.” The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Gholamreza Seyed Mohammadkhani.
As per the reporter of Breathing in Confinement, Gholamreza Seyed Mohammadkhani, a resident of Mashhad, was previously arrested on charges of “murder” following an altercation with the victim, who was his cousin. He was sentenced to death, and the sentence was carried out at dawn on Monday, January 20, in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
