Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Sunday, February 23, 2025, the execution of at least one prisoner, who had been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of murder, was carried out in Qorveh Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was executed in Qorveh Prison early this morning. The identity of this prisoner, Naeem Abdi, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.
As per the reported information to Breathing in Confinement, Naeem Abdi, a 22-year-old from Qorveh, was arrested two years ago on charges of murdering Behzad Moazami and was sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Sunday, February 23, in Qorveh Prison.
As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official resources.
Annual Report on Executions in Iran
