Breathing in Confinement: The death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder,” has been carried out in Shahab Prison in Kerman.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in the early hours of Friday, 5 June 2026, a prisoner was hanged in Kerman Prison. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Vahid Arman.

According to the report, Vahid Arman, a resident of Kerman, had previously been arrested on charges of “murder” and was subsequently sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out in the early hours of Friday, 5 June 2026, in Kerman Prison.

Annual report on executions in Iran
According to the annual report of the Statistical Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, between March 2025 and March 2026, at least 2,616 individuals were executed in Iran.
