Breathing in Confinement – The death sentence of at least one prisoner, convicted on charges of “murder,” was carried out in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Tuesday, 12 August, a prisoner was hanged in Shiraz Central Prison. The identity of this prisoner has been confirmed as Afshin Dehghan by Breathing in Confinement.
Afshin Dehghan, a resident of Jovalighan village in the Jereh and Baladeh District of Kazerun, had previously been arrested on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Tuesday, 12 August 2025, in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz.
