Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Thursday, December 26, the death sentences of at least four prisoners, convicted on “drug related charges” were carried out in Gonabad Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, , the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, four prisoners were executed early Thursday, December 26, in Gonabad Prison on charges related to “drug offenses.” The identities of the prisoners—Abdollah Narouei, Hossein Salarzehi, Javad Ghaffari, and Ahmad Ghafran—have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.
Based on information from Breathing in Confinement reporters, Abdollah Narouei, son of Nazar, was arrested four years ago and sentenced to death on “drug related charges”. Additionally, according to reports from Halwash, the other three prisoners—Hossein Salarzehi from Zahedan (arrested five years ago), Javad Ghaffari from Mashhad, and Ahmad Ghafran—were also arrested in separate cases for “drug offenses” and sentenced to death.
The executions of these prisoners were carried out at dawn on Thursday, December 26, in Gonabad Prison.
