Breathing in Confinement — The death sentences of two prisoners, who had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges related to drug offences, were carried out in the Central Karaj Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, a news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at 12:00 midnight on Sunday, two prisoners were hanged in the Central Karaj Prison. The identities of the executed prisoners have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Ali Eitiwand (Hosseini) and Keyumars Bahrami. On Thursday 11 December, Breathing in Confinement had reported their transfer to solitary confinement in preparation for the execution.
Ali Eitiwand (Hosseini), aged 29 and from the village of Sorkheh Mehr in Kuhdasht, was arrested two years ago on charges related to drug offences and subsequently sentenced to death. Keyumars Bahrami, from Kuhdasht, had been arrested four years earlier in a separate case on similar charges and was also sentenced to death.
The sentences were carried out in the early hours of Sunday, 14 December 2025, in the Central Karaj Prison.
