Breathing in Confinement – The death sentence of at least one prisoner who had previously been arrested and convicted of “murder” was carried out in Mashhad Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in the early hours of Thursday, 30 October 2025, a prisoner was hanged in Mashhad Prison. The identity of this prisoner, Amirhossein Zahedi, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.
Amirhossein Zahedi, a 21-year-old from Mashhad, was arrested three years ago at the age of 18 on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death. He had previously been transferred to solitary confinement twice for the execution of the sentence, but each time the execution was halted after receiving a reprieve in hopes of securing forgiveness from the victim’s family. Ultimately, the sentence was carried out at dawn on Thursday, 30 October 2025, in Mashhad Prison.
