Breathing in Confinement – At dawn on Thursday, 10 April 2025, the death sentences of at least two prisoners who had been arrested and convicted of murder were carried out in Iranshahr Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, two prisoners were hanged in Iranshahr Prison early Thursday morning. Their identities have been confirmed as Ehsan Bamari and Yasin Bamari.

According to the report, citing Hal Vash, Ehsan Bamari, son of Mohammad and a resident of Hamidabad village in Delgan, had been arrested four years ago on murder charges and sentenced to death.
Yasin Bamari, 28 years old, son of Ghamshad and a resident of Nokabad village in Iranshahr, had been arrested nine years ago on charges of murder and also sentenced to death.

The two prisoners had been transferred to solitary confinement the day before for execution and had their final visits with their families. Their sentences were carried out at dawn on Thursday, 10 April 2025, in Iranshahr Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran

According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, five people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
