According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, a prisoner was hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison. The identity of this prisoner, “Hooman Garavand,” has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.
Hooman Garavand, a native of the Sartorhan district in Kuhdasht, had previously been arrested on charges related to “narcotics offences” and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison.
