Breathing in Confinement – The death sentences of at least two prisoners convicted on drug-related charges were carried out in Kerman Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Thursday, 16 October 2025, two prisoners were executed in Kerman Prison. The identities of these individuals have been confirmed as Jalal Mahmoudi and Jaber Nadi.

Jalal Mahmoudi, a native of Kerman, had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges related to drug offences. Jaber Nadi had also been arrested and sentenced to death on similar charges. The executions were carried out at dawn on Thursday, 24 Mehr 1404 (16 October 2025) in Kerman Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran

According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, six people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
