Breathing in Confinement – At dawn on Saturday, 3 May 2025, the death sentence of a prisoner convicted of drug related charges was carried out in Bandar Abbas Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was executed at Bandar Abbas Central Prison on the morning of Saturday, 3 May 2025. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Manoochehr Golabi.
According to the report, Manoochehr Golabi (also known as Balouchkareh), a married man from Minab, was arrested seven years ago on charges related to drug offences and sentenced to death. The execution was carried out at dawn on Saturday, 3 May 2025, in Bandar Abbas Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, six people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
