According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, a prisoner was executed in Sanandaj Prison. The identity of this prisoner, Mohammad Babaei, has been verified by Breathing in Confinement.
Mohammad Babaei, 44, originally from the village of Dezli and a resident of Marivan, had previously been arrested on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, in Sanandaj Prison.
