Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Monday, June 20, a political prisoner named Firuz Mousaloo, from the Ghatur district of the City of Khoy, was secretly executed.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, the political prisoner Firuz Mousaloo was secretly executed.
Fars News Agency confirmed the execution of this political prisoner in a report quoting the Public Relations of the Judiciary of West Azerbaijan Province. The news agency did not mention the name of this political prisoner.
On Saturday, June 18, Firuz Mousaloo had been transferred from Urmia Prison to an unknown location.
The last court hearing of Mr. Mousaloo was held in March 2022 in Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Urmia. The court sentenced Mr. Mousaloo to death for moharebeh through membership in a Kurdish party.
The sentence was notified to Mr. Mousaloo on Monday, March 7, 2022 in Urmia Prison.
On Wednesday, January 1, 2020, after five months of interrogation, Firuz Mousaloo was transferred from the Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Detention Center in Urmia to the city’s central prison.
He had been arrested on July 11, 2019, after reporting himself to the IRGC in Sardasht City, and then transferred to the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center in Urmia.
When Firuz Mousaloo was detained by security forces, Revolutionary Guards officials told his family that their son would be released after a few days of interrogation.
