According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, early on Thursday, February 20, 2025, a prisoner convicted of “rape by force” was executed in Mahabad Prison. The identity of this prisoner, Shahin Mahdavi Kia, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.
According to the Breathing in Confinement reporter, Shahin Mahdavi Kia, son of Khosrow, a resident of Qom Qaleh village, had previously been arrested and sentenced to death for the rape of an 11-year-old child, which led to the child’s suicide. The issued sentence was carried out at dawn on Thursday, February 20, in Mahabad Prison.
