Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Saturday, December 21, the death sentence of at least one prisoner who had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder” was carried out in Zahedan Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in the early hours of Saturday, December 21, a prisoner was executed in Zahedan Prison on charges of “murder.” The identity of the prisoner, Soltan Jahantigh, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.

Based on information obtained by the Breathing in Confinement reporter, Soltan Jahantigh, son of Gholamreza, a resident of the village of Sanjerani in Zabol, was arrested five years ago in a joint case with his brother and brother-in-law, Naser Jahantigh and Hossein Zari, on charges of murder. He was sentenced to death by the Zabol Criminal Court. Soltan Jahantigh was transferred to Zahedan Prison two years ago, and the issued sentence was carried out at dawn on Saturday, December 21, in Zahedan Prison.
