Breathing in Confinement – The death sentences of at least three prisoners convicted on charges related to “narcotics offences” were carried out in Arak Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Wednesday, 15 October 2025, three prisoners were hanged in Arak Prison. Their identities have been verified as Masoud Nemati-Nia, Alireza Rezaghi, and Mohammad Rafiq Kaleh-Bacheh.
Masoud Nemati-Nia, the son of Mohammad-Mirza, from Arak, had previously been arrested and sentenced to death for drug-related charges; informed sources say he was arrested over 100 grams of narcotics. Alireza Rezaghi, from Hamedan, had likewise been arrested and sentenced to death for drug-related offences. According to Haalvsh, Mohammad Rafiq Kaleh-Bacheh, the son of Amir, aged 45, from Zahedan, was arrested three years ago on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. The executions were carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 15 October 2025, in Arak Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, six people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
