Breathing in Confinement – The death sentences of at least three prisoners convicted on charges related to “drug offences” were carried out in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Monday, 11 August, three prisoners were hanged in Isfahan Central Prison. The identities of these prisoners – Ali Mobasher, Hossein Rezaei, and Zaker Aramesh – have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.

Ali Mobasher, 40, from Isfahan; Hossein Rezaei, from Isfahan; and Zaker Aramesh, 27, from the village of Dourak in Sarbaz County, had previously been arrested and sentenced to death for charges related to “drug offences.” The sentences were carried out at dawn on Monday, 11 August 2025, in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran

According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, six people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
