Execution of two prisoners in Ardebil and Boroujerd prisons

Breathing in Confinement – On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, a prisoner accused of murder faced a death penalty in Ardebil Prison.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”- the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, IRNA news agency quoted Ardebil province’s chief justice as announcing that a 39-year-old prisoner was executed at Ardabil Central Prison on Tuesday morning, November 5, 2019.
Based on the report, this unidentified prisoner was arrested and sentenced to death on August 15, 2017, on the charge of “premeditated murder” of two brothers (his own nieces), using a firearm.
In another news, according to Iran Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, October 31, 2019, a prisoner accused of murder, after 4 years of being kept in jail was executed in ” Tirche Block” Prison in Boroujerd.
It is noteworthy that according to the Statistics Center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 280 prisoners have been executed in the country, over the last one year (October 2018- October 2019). Out of them, only 75 have been announced by the official sources.
