Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Saturday, February 22, 2025, the execution of at least two prisoners, who had been arrested and sentenced to death on charges related to drug offenses, was carried out in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, two prisoners were executed in Isfahan Central Prison early on Saturday, February 22, 2025. The identities of these prisoners, Ahmad Hanafi and Asghar Dehghani, have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.
According to received information, Ahmad Hanafi, a resident of Taybad village in Razavi Khorasan, and Asghar Dehghani, a resident of Isfahan, had previously been arrested on charges related to drug offenses and sentenced to death. The sentences were carried out at dawn on Saturday, February 22, in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
